Unit 8 - Project Proposal
Name:Samir Hussain
Pathway:Game design
Project Title:Trivia Pursue
Section 1: Plan
The title of the game is called is called Trivia Pursue.
This product is a stealth base plat-former that will teach young people about history. The type of history will be broad similar to horrible history which teaches people the not so black and white side of history.
The game will be a quiz game where a character will ask you history question and the answers are represented as strolls that will be spread-out on a small map. To make it more challenging there will be a large enemy that will aim on destroying you if it sees you.
The main character is a ninja this character will allow me to make faster movement with an odd animation. The character will also have a usual body shape. This will help with the child aimed audience as I feel it important that the character is simple for children to remember it.
The enemy will be an Oni this is a monster based on Japanese mythology. if you want an idea what it looks like it thinks of an ogre that red. I will give a simple detection system where if he sees you, he changes colour from blue too red.
Pre-production: sketch design for player character, monster and environment. Make a PowerPoint to document all success and fails of the project so I know what Is going well throughout the FMP. I. Will also create a mood board of ideas and created a control scheme for my game. I will be creating dietetic and non-dietetic audio such as background music and sound for the character, monster and environment.
Production: I will be creating blue prints for my ninja player character and enemy monster character. These blueprints will be imported to Maya where I will model them then I will UV cut them and import them to Photoshop so I can colour and detail them. Finally, they will be exported from Photoshop and imported to Maya as renders for the models.
Then I will export them to Mixamo to be given an animation rigs for they can move and animated in unreal. finally, I will be importing them to Unreal and used tutorials to learn how to add effect to the model and make the game closer to what my idea is. Also, I will document all these steps in my PowerPoint.
Post production: I will start my post production by checking my spelling in my PowerPoint so no information is misunderstood, link all sources of information and tutorials I’ve used for my FMP. Also, I will do several play tests to see if my game works and fix any visual and technical issues that my game has.
Evaluation: I will write up a questionnaire for the people who play test my game and record them playing it. This information will be used so I can evaluate if I am improving my skills or just stagnating.
then this information will be uploaded on to my Wix page to show evidence that three people have played and reviewed my game.
Section 2: Research (please include Harvard Referencing and a bibliography)
The game will be inspired by game such as Mini Ninjas for the how the character will be designs. The art style is inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BOTW) and Guilty Gear XRD the enemy in the game is going to be used as a large inspiration BY BOTW and that enemy is called a Hinox.
Game play is going to inspired by Super Mario 64 as the game will be a plat former.
I will also look at history document and book to get question for my game.
The game will also have music which will be based on calm Asian style classical music.
Finally, I will also be look at fiction ninja shows to get an idea of what the ninja should act like as I want it to be exoculated.

Section 3: Skills/Materials/Techniques
I will use Maya to create the props, player character and enemy character.
Mixamo will be used to give the character animations.
Photoshop will be used to make UV for the character.
Adobe premiere will be used to edit audio that will be used in my game.
Unreal is the game engine which I used to import everything to make the game.
Microsoft PowerPoint to document everything I don’t for the FMP.
Google will be used to fine reference images and tutorials.
I will also use my sketch book to create what everything looks like before I create on the computer.
Techniques: will have to learn how to animate a character, create a working A. I. have the environment with an art style. also, don’t make the models to high poly in Maya so that don’t cause unreal to slow down.
Section 4: Evaluation
The way I make this project successful is that I will make multiple solution for a single so I don’t get stuck. I will make backup on save files so I don’t lose as I have lost progress in the previous FMP the files will saved on to a USB and cloud just in case.
To further the development of the project I will come in on my days off. Coming on these days will also allow to test out other ideas to further the project.
Also, I will document everything I do throughout the project so I will know what works and what doesn’t work this help me remember what I have done and make me waste less time.
Video diary: I will document my progression with the FMP by doing video diary where I talk in deep about what I’m doing and what I’m going to do including pros and cons also I will have a one to one dissection with my tutor about my progression and evaluation so far.
I will also have people play test and review my game so I know if I have improved my skill as having a third party interact with my work. Will give me better feedback and advice then just me doing it.

Peer critique
From what I have gathered for, my peers my game seem to be interesting and simple.
But one of the common aspect my peer have issue with my game is the difficulty. They feel it wont be fair that the enemy can eliminate the player in one hit. So they suggested way to make it easy such as more then a single life or weapons.
Also my peer gave suggestion of different question for the quiz part of my game. They said maybe instead of exclusively history question why not pop culture question or trivia questions.
the final suggestion was to reduce the character movement speed.
