I plan to study games design at university as I have heard good things about this university and how it advertises that its resources will further my artistic skills.
My personal quality besides media knowledge is that I am very keen on learning and want to further pursue in this subject. I want to Improve my ability with working in teams and further develop my artistic skills as I believe it up to a standard I prefer compared to my peers who I am comparing my abilities to. Also, I want to achieve a high level of creative problem solving. This issue will be solved by project briefs which will challenged my excited skills and the resources in university’s will let me see how creative I can be. From my current studies I enjoy that It different from what I normally learn and I’m allowed to complete task in a non-convention way. As I had project where I had to create a Lego figure. This meant I would use Legos as reference but also, I can get extra marks for adding details where you can only see if you have a Lego figure at home and use that as a reference compared to everyone else who used third hand research. For a sci-fi project I got to use third party software to make my version of the project more unique. The way I done this was to give my game a visually distinct skybox that not available in the base version of Unreal. In addition to that I would like to do more technical aspect of game design like programming fog and modeling environment. In addition to that I have done character modeling, rigging, UV and programing. I have used these skills for class course work to make it space ships and its interiors and remake old vides games by updated re-designing old model, textures and game play ideas. When I go to university, I want to study Environment design in greater depth. As I find the worlds in video game to be more interesting and I want to become a level designer. As, I find creating props, objects and skybox to be enjoyable. For further information on game design I went to Comic-Con on October 2019 and meet game developer and independent comic book creators and artist. In addition to that I have gained more inspiration and information from, game design teacher talked in depth about his job as a Rockstar Game environment designer. He also talked about the pros and cons of working in a large games company, which opened my eyes to it all. Furthermore, from going to Comic-Con it showed me how accessible it now is be an independent game designer as I meet a lot of independent people adverting their product then the larger mainstream company’s.
For my own personal skills, I am committed as I would spend long night to complete work and this mean in a university environment I am driven to get through university and, I have the ability to ask people to help me with words or assist them with sentence to make sure they can articulate what they want to say. This mean I won’t stagnate for help when I get stuck I would ask my peer instead of just asking the teacher and my skills mean I have a good understand on how to use most media software. This means I will know basic media software in university. Furthermore, I am determined to go to university as I once had my work complete corrupted and I ended up redoing the whole thing all over again in 2 weeks. This means I can handle a lot of pressure and can hit deadlines. I have also assisted with other people work by helping them plan and proofread their work. This will tell you I can work well with other people beside the people I know. Although I am, I have worked on personal work with very little help and would use experimentation to solve problems or rescores from internet. This mean I can work independent on my own with any course work and organized my work flow with all files and folder on my pc while also having backed up on One drive and this will allow me to keep on top of my work when I go to university. I always use my own initiative by using the internet and YouTube tutorials to understand software. When their no one around to help meaning I will be independent in a university setting. Also, these tutorials have expanded by knowledge and understand on how to use these software’s more effectively. I am also very supportive as I would be helping other with their PowerPoint, writing structure and spelling an in university I am willing to help anyone with their work.
The reason I want to get into university is there will be more job opportunity’s as retail work is over crowded and is stagnated as a career course and I want to earn a salary that put less stress and worry on my family. Also, not many of you family have gone to university or been very successful so I want to be part of that generation that can make it in life.

So, in these two years of studying game design I would like to improve my skills in character modelling as I struggle to create subject that are visually appealing. Or even recognisable to anything that already exist. Although I think my ability to creating environment is getting better.
Positive: amazing understand with adobe Photoshop, Adobe premiere and Unreal.
Weakness: I feel I have issues are with thing such as my writing being terrible. As I am unable to really express to nothing more than a child level.
I lack confident in the quality of what I product compares to my pers I feel unskilled to everyone else.
I think I would like to further my education but I’m almost 20. So, in that perspective I should go into apprenticeship as I would be able to get a job in a company in less time.
I would like to study level design further and possibly the more technical aspect of level design us as how to make a dynamic environment.
I would like to do work experience and volunteering surrounding media. But mostly game design as this would make my C.V look better and improve my chances of being hired.
So, if I had to pick a university to go to I would pick London South Bank University because it quite close and it has a large campus. Although if I had to pick an apprenticeship I would pick Princes Trust. as they have contact will large company such as Comcast.
the type of would would like to specialise into is level design.
I would promote myself by uploading videos and images of my work on to social media. In addition, I would interact with people in and out of the industry through social media just to get my name out there.
A show-reel would be created once I have a good an amount of work that I would consider more than adequate. This will be uploaded to social media as well.
